Writing Out the Sad: Linkin Park

I have no posts scheduled for today but when you wake up to the news of something that pulls such a strong reaction out of you, something that makes you feel so much that it makes the words overflow,
then of course, it's a waste to let it go.

Maybe it's because I'm older now, more sensitive, more fragile?
But I am so aware of how many of us this loss has hit today.

Why Music Festivals Are Amazing: My EDC Experience

I'm back!

All tanned and stumbling straight into Post Holiday Depression, so what better way to power through it than to tell you guys all about my adventure, right?

The entertainment system on our fifteen hour flight back to Sydney wasn't working so I had plenty of time to mull over how best to write about everything.

I think the best way is to split the trip up into separate posts. Essentially there were two parts to our holiday: The First Leg, which was EDC, my birthday and hanging out with all the people, and The Second Leg, ie, our honeymoon. So, that's how it's going to be!

Also, I attempted to vlog on this trip despite the fact that I'm rubbish at speaking and even more awkward at being in front of the camera. And I will be trying my best to sort through whatever footage I have and stitching them together into some semblance of "vlogs" that will (hopefully) make sense to whoever watches them. (lux3lla YouTube ^_^)

(Disclaimer: Do expect tonnes of B-roll and scenic montages with cool, royalty free music in the background because, like I said, I'm absolute rubbish at speaking - lol).

But guys, that's enough about my plans. Let's talk about EDC!!!

That Friendly Festival Guide

It's not festival season in Sydney right now, but the best thing about travelling during Aussie winter is getting to chase the summers all around the world!

So by the time this post goes live, I'll would have just landed in (or will be gallivanting around) the US (yaaaasss!), where the weather is (hopefully) much more to my liking, instead of the sh*tty continuous rain and thunderstorm that's been happening all day today.

And with the summer comes...

100 Days Married!

Today is Monday.
Today is the beginning of another week.
Today we are both fighting off colds that are better to be had now than later.

Today is also very subdued.
Because when you look at the news, today is also the wake of another sad crisis that has occurred in the world, in somewhere we used to call home.
It's another thing to add to the list of frightening things.
It makes everything feel so much bigger and unsafe.

Today is the start of our last week in Sydney before we take off on another adventure.

Today, we have been married for 100 days.

Chasing Perfect Days

Okay, I apologise for the misleading title, because, truthfully?

There's no such thing as a perfect day.

This blog post isn't going to tell you how to chase perfect days because there's no way to do it. But the good thing about being your own person is the ability to adjust your mindset.
There are so many things out there that talk about attracting negativity and positivity, maintaining balance, karma...

Vacation and Shopping for Airbnbs

What the hell, guys, how is it even May already?!
We're almost at the half way mark of the year and, I mean, yeah, I can list a lot of things that have happened, but it feels like it's been 5 secondssss...

Okay, that's enough moaning from me.
Some of you may already know that I'm (finally) going on vacation next month. The trip is a combination between a couple of birthdays (including mine) and our honeymoon (YAY!), so we've decided to make it a long(ish) one. I say "long(ish)" only because a month is that for most of you, but after living in Europe for almost two years, I find that my concept of "long(ish)" has been permanently skewed. I have a sneaking suspicion that I am a vagabond at heart.

April Camp NaNoWriMo!

Some of you probably already know what Camp NaNo is, but for those who have no idea, I thought I'd take a minute to talk about it since it always becomes such a regular thing with me every few months or so. I guess it's part of taking this writing thing seriously.

Before I start though, let me try and tell you how I got to this point/why.

BRB, Introverting!

So, the other day I was in the car with my mum reminiscing about the wedding (surprise, surprise).

The topic came up because I was telling her that I'm still running into people I haven't seen since the wedding. I know it won't go on forever, but for the moment I'm still enjoying hearing people's recaps and what they thought, because the one thing I wanted was for our wedding to be personalised, fun and memorable.

One thing that went way beyond our expectations, though, was how memorable it was to everyone to see mine and Steve's parents (and the rest of his family, including his grandmother) tearing up the dance floor!

Relationship Status: Married!

I'm back!

I'm sure you all can understand why I've been MIA for the past month and a half. Ya know, getting married and all...but as you can see from the title of this post, we'rree done!! Yayayaya!

It was a crazy last two weeks leading up to the wedding and then the several weeks after it, but let me try and recap - if not for you, then at least for me to remember all the feels.

Wrapping Up January Like, Whaaat?

I know right? That went by so quick, what the heck? And it's probably going to get more hectic from here.
I was originally going to make this a Hens Weekend recap, but then time went by and I didn't have a chance to blog so.

Looks like it's going to be a monthly wrap-up. Yay!

Big updates on the wedding front, Go!

Hello 2017!

Let it be known to future brides everywhere that the two month mark is when everything starts getting hectic and everyone starts waving their figurative hands all over the space in front of your face.
Suffice it to say, I have not been in the best headspace to write anything so this first blogpost might be a little like pulling teeth, but, heyyyy! Hello, 2017! Welcome! Nice to see you!

Since the start of the new year (or maybe even since Christmas) I have...
