I know right? That went by so quick, what the heck? And it's probably going to get more hectic from here.
I was originally going to make this a Hens Weekend recap, but then time went by and I didn't have a chance to blog so.
Looks like it's going to be a monthly wrap-up. Yay!
1.) Half way through the month somewhere, I sat down for my bridal make up trial. It went well considering the fact that I don't like things touching my face. And when I say "well" I mean, I sat through the whole thing without complaining. That's a win (lol). Also, it looked great! It looked so great that people could hardly recognise me and I couldn't stop staring at my face, ha!
No, but really, it was like, Ella v2.0. And being the boy that I am, I will probably never be able recreate it myself ever, so my MUA is The Best. (Thank you, lawd!)
2.) We had our final(?) meeting with our venue. It was funny because the coordinator actually sent us some questionnaires that we had to fill out about the wedding but Steve and I couldn't answer most of them. (Fail army!) I wasn't too worried though because most of the questions needed to be discussed. We came out of that meeting with a run sheet that was so much better than whatever I had scribbled down (haha!).
3.) We started dance rehearsals.
Yes, we're doing those. Mostly because,
a.) it's a little important to us that we don't look like idiots dancing together because all we know how to do is hakk, haha.
b.) When will we ever get to low key foxtrot in front of anyone ever again?!
c.) It's a great way to open up the dance floor.
Everyone in the bridal party has been cooperative so far and we're thankful for that. Also, we are thankful that everyone has some level of coordination because, yes, I totally feel like we're cutting it a little close. But it's fine because I have faith!! (YAS!) *insert nervous shifty eyes here*
4.) Lastly (but not least), we finally found an MC!!
After my mum brought to our attention that bilingual MCs were actually a thing (I didn't think about it, okay?) we finally found one after a tonne of emails, and, guys, she is lovely. So glad I found her and she was happy to meet up with us. We ironed out the run sheet even more so the evening is definitely taking shape. I'm so glad. Phew!
These definitely haven't eliminated all the anxiety levels, but I'm feeling okay today.

This month also saw my hens weekend which I'm so happy turned out the way I wanted it to turn out. Initially I wasn't even that interested in throwing one and was even a little apprehensive about it because of all the "debauchery" associated with it, but in the end I'm glad I did. I used it as an opportunity to spend time with my girlfriends and, despite the stress and anxiety of planning, everything that I wanted to happen/hoped for from that weekend met my expectations.

And I know my bridesmaids probably had the hardest time trying not to go all out and book every stripper within a 30km radius (lol), but I can't say it often enough or explain enough that the staycation and brunch and night out together was so much better than strippers for me. It's another weekend of good memories that I can add to the books, which is something that I didn't expect I could say, only because the reputation of these occasions far precedes them. You see and hear enough negative things, hurtful things and deceitful things come out of these occasions without fuelling them yourself and Steve and I are so happy to have come out of it relatively unscathed (lol!).

Other than that? I'm good! ^_^
